Be a man! Stand up, AND, Stay!
Ok so there are certain expectations of a church right? Well a church is also made up of people, is it not? There was one perfect person and he is no longer flesh and blood, and does not physically attend a church. So if this perfect person (Jesus, by the way, in case you were wondering, was that one perfect person) doesn’t “attend” a church per se, then is the church entitled to their mistakes, sins, and faults? Well to answer my own question with my opinion, I say yes. The church is made up of (imperfect) people who are bound to screw up time and time again. So do you tell the church their faults? If you said yes then answer this, when Paul wrote the letters to the churches telling them their faults did he first leave the church? Ok so from what I understand Paul wasn’t actually a member of the churches he wrote to, but still I think if he had been he would have just waited for an opportune moment and stood in front of the congregation and addressed the issue. He also (keep in mind this is completely my OPINION) would have STAYED. He wouldn’t have left the church then addressed the situation. If it needed to be addressed that badly he would have done it in person (assuming that he was a member of the churches). Is it right to let someone even a group of someone’s go on doing wrong? No, but you also shouldn’t address the situation out of spite, and anger. I guess what I am trying to say is if you see someone is doing something wrong correct them in a kind and loving manner, but in one they will understand, but don’t correct them, or think about it, and then turn around and judge or criticize them. Then you’re just being a hypocrite, because to God all sin is equal and you are knowingly sinning against your neighbor, often just like the person you corrected was doing. This same concept goes for a church. No matter the sin it is equal with the sinning you’re doing by judging. So if a church has an issue feel free to address it just do it with the right heart and the right intentions, because getting the right result from a wrong heart and bad intentions is not only rare, but still resulted for the wrong reason. I hope you understand what I am saying, sorry if it’s a little confusing. This is just an upsetting topic for me because I’m caught between two sides. Paul tells us to correct the church, and then this other person agrees but, IN MY OPINION (I just want it to be understood that this is not fact but definitely opinion), is doing it for the wrong reasons deep down. Sure they say that their intentions are good, and if they stuck to what they are saying their intentions are then they would be. But they turn right around and start the judging and pointing of fingers which contradicts themselves. You might be wondering where I stand in all of this. Well as I said before I am caught in the middle. More specifically, however, I just really don’t feel it is my place to do anything at this point in time. I feel that if God wants me to do something about all of this then he will let me know in time. But for now I felt I should write this just in case someone else is in this position.

Point well taken and I had already decided the same way, but thanks for the way you put it. I do feel that there is a time to back out of the way and let God handle things, but you are right when you say that causing more conflict after the fact is also wrong. So I'll take another lesson from Paul and realize when I need to let a young Timothy try her hand in the congregation while I see where the bkessed Christ leads me next.
